Set up the Agent Plugin
Ask Claude, ChatGPT or Codex for economic data, and they fetch it from Anansi. Setup takes a few minutes and no coding.
You need an Anansi account. Create one if you don't have one yet.

Add the marketplace
Tell your app where Anansi's plugin lives.

Install Anansi Data
Add the plugin from that marketplace.
- Part 3
Connect your account
Sign in to Anansi, so the plugin can fetch data.

Needs a paid Claude plan.
Open CustomizePlugins.
Choose AddAdd marketplaceAdd from a repository.
Paste this link, then click Add.

Open the Anansi marketplace, select Anansi Data, and click Install.
Or Add, depending on your version.
If Claude shows configuration options, leave them as they are and click Save.
Open CustomizeConnectors, find Anansi, and click Connect.
Sign in with your Anansi account, then start a new chat.

ChatGPT or Codex desktop app
Open Plugins.
Choose AddAdd plugin marketplace.
Paste this link.

Open the Anansi marketplace, select Anansi Data, and click Install or +.
Follow the prompts to connect, and sign in with your Anansi account.

Can't find Add plugin marketplace? The menu differs between app versions. Add the marketplace from the terminal instead: follow the Codex CLI steps.

A ChatGPT workspace, for everyone in it
For workspace admins. Do this once, and members can install Anansi Data themselves.
Open AdminPlugins.
Choose AddImport marketplace.
Paste this link into Source.

Click Import marketplace, and allow GitHub access if asked.
Make Anansi Data available to the workspace roles that need it.
Tell members to open Plugins, install Anansi Data, and sign in with their Anansi account.
Importing the marketplace doesn't sign anyone in. Each member connects their own Anansi account the first time they use it.

Claude Code
Type or paste each command into your terminal and press Enter.
Add the marketplace.

Was Codex already open while you installed? Start a new session before using the plugin.

Try it
Start a new chat or session and send:
Use Anansi Data to compare GDP growth and inflation in India, China, and the United States over the last 10 years. Show a chart and explain the main differences.
Not working?
- Anansi Data is installed but can't fetch any data.
- Your Anansi account isn't connected yet. Installing the plugin and connecting your account are separate steps: go back to the step where you sign in.
- I don't see Anansi Data in a chat.
- Start a new chat or session. Chats that were already open don't pick up new plugins.
- The menus in my app look different.
- Apps rename their menus between versions, so look for the closest match. In the ChatGPT or Codex app, you can also add the marketplace with the Codex CLI steps.
